Incorporate what you are passionate about into your work. It’s always good to approach potential clients if you like what they are doing with their business – chances are they will like what you do too. Always experiment with your medium to keep things fresh and original (don’t get stuck in a rut with what is expected from you stylistically). Biscuits and fresh air definitely help too.

Nick Radford is an illustrator with over 12 years of industry experience. Represented by Folio, he has been commissioned by the likes of Google, The Guardian, Cadbury, Vodafone, The Telegraph, Bantam Press and Ubiquity Records to name a few. He is also a musician, recording under the name Frootful and signed to London independent label, Freestyle Records. Look out for live shows with his band, The Frootful Art Ensemble, which often feature accompanying limited edition screenprints by Nick and other invited artists. Album artwork and posters are his favourite kind of work, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.
